WIPO Deputy Director General Hasan Kleib welcomes Iceland’s accession to the Marrakesh Treaty. With Iceland’s membership, the Treaty now covers 109 countries. The WIPO-administered Marrakesh Treaty makes the production and international transfer of specially-adapted books for people with blindness or visual impairments easier – expanding their learning, education and leisure opportunities.
Ambassador Harald Aspelund, Iceland’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Geneva, deposited the instrument of accession on December 9, 2021.
