WIPO Director General Daren Tang welcomes Rwanda’s accession to the Marrakesh Treaty. With Rwanda’s membership, the Treaty now covers 108 countries. The WIPO-administered Marrakesh Treaty makes the production and international transfer of specially-adapted books for people with blindness or visual impairments easier – expanding their learning, education and leisure opportunities.
Ambassador Marie Chantal Rwakazina, Rwanda’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Geneva, deposited the instrument of accession on October 25, 2021.
